This is a 5K fundraiser and public awareness event
that benefits a 7 year old student at Cool Springs Elementary School, Abby Van
Meter.
The race is a
benefit for Abby's special needs trust, and also donates a portion of the
proceeds to national foundations that support vaccine research for CMV
(cytomegalovirus), the virus which severely affected Abby. CMV is a threat to
all pregnant mothers, and is thought to affect 1 in every 150 children, yet is
little known.
